My First Semester Experience

The combination of the classes I took, the people I got to meet, the events I attended, the experiences I went through, and the environment I was surrounded by, just made it so unique and so different. Not getting things that I applied for.

The campus won't feel so unfamiliar.

But I wanted to be a writer. While academics and studying does make up a huge component of university, do not completely toss aside the other, more fun aspects, such as hanging out with friends, attending social events, making new exciting memories, etc.

Many times, college was everything I had wished for, and everything I had not. And I played an abnormal amount of ultimate Frisbee. You feel left out when you see Facebook photos of events that they had that you weren't invited to. Fortunately, I woke up the next morning with an epiphany: That is just how university is.

It's just so interesting how college brings together people from all over the world, with such diverse experiences, beliefs and dreams. Yeah, the first semester is a struggle, but a worthwhile one that teaches you a whole lot about yourself.

Nobody cares if you take a Philosophy, Acting or Drawing class. In college, it's not so uncommon to meet that guy who has built 20 different social networks or iPhone applications or that girl who is working on a research that will cure cancer or that guy who just got his company acquired.
